Applications are currently underway for the Doctoral Program in Applied Psychology: Health and Well-being, taught by Lusíada University in Porto and in Lisbon, and whose program is coordinated with the Psychology for Development Research Center (CIPD) and the Lusíada Center for Research in Social Work and Social Intervention (CLISSIS).

Societies are facing the need to adapt to a reality whose increasing complexity poses significant challenges in all domains, including health and well-being.

The adaptive response to these challenges (current and those expected for the future in the short and medium term) requires individuals, groups, organizations and societies to have resources, attitudes, dynamics and effective responses in promoting health and well-being, providing professionals with advanced skills in this domain, in different contexts (clinical, educational, organizational, community, etc.).

These aspects make the Doctoral Program in Applied Psychology: Health and Well-being a training offer that is especially relevant in the current and future historical moment, being specifically designed to respond to this growing need for highly qualified professionals.

This Doctoral Program therefore aims to train technicians with advanced skills in applying the contributions of Psychology to the promotion of health and well-being in different populations and contexts, promoting the development of the respective advanced research skills.

The Program includes contributions from partnerships with national and foreign researchers and organizations with recognized expertise in research and promotion of health and well-being, articulating, as mentioned, with two research and development units – CIPD and CLISSIS – holding research lines and projects in the field of health and well-being.
